The Pears in Syrup Biofables

Biofavole's Organic Pears in Syrup are a true gem of rural preservation: William pears selected on the tree when not overripe, ensuring the firm, silky texture typical of quality pears in syrup. The pears, hand-picked in the family orchards of Ortezzano di Fermo, nestled in the rolling hills of the Valdaso valley in the Marche region, are peeled and immersed in a simple syrup made from just two ingredients: water and organic sugar. No chemical preservatives, colorings, artificial flavors, or citric acid are added. Washing, peeling, sorting, and packaging in sterile glass jars are performed entirely by hand by the company's laboratory staff, before being gently pasteurized to ensure long-lasting, safe preservation. The purity of the fruit and the simplicity of the syrup restore all the aromatic nobility of William pears: intense aromas of honey, bergamot, and almond evoke the Marche orchards at sunset.

The roots of these Pears in Syrup are deep in tradition

The Williams pear is a variety of ancient European aristocracy: developed in England in the late 18th century by the London nurseryman Williams, it spread throughout the continent, conquering royal tables for its melting, juicy, and fragrant flesh, with an unmistakable flavor of musk and almond. It is also the variety used to produce the famous Swiss and Alsatian "Williams" brandy. In Pellegrino Artusi's "Conserve Domestiche," recipes for "pears in giulebbe" occupy important pages, testifying to a late-19th-century Italian bourgeois tradition of serving them at winter Sunday lunches. In the Marche countryside, the syruping of autumn pears was the quintessential late-September ritual: women devoted entire afternoons to peeling the Williams pears one by one, removing the core, and arranging them in jars with almost reverential care. Biofavole inherits this traditional wisdom and translates it into a contemporary organic product that preserves the artisanal gestures of the Marche grandmothers intact.

Choosing Pears in Syrup means taking care of yourself

Biofavole's Organic Pears in Syrup represent the most virtuous version of a noble Italian preserve: organic ingredients, artisanal processing, and the complete absence of preservatives, flavorings, colorings, or chemical acidifiers typical of industrial products. William pears are rich in pectin, a soluble fiber (2 g per 100 g) that gently regulates intestinal transit and nourishes beneficial bacterial flora, and in natural sorbitol, a recognized prebiotic. They also provide vitamin C, vitamin K, potassium, and copper, essential minerals for the immune and cardiovascular systems. The flavonoid polyphenols present in their pulp have documented anti-inflammatory effects. With 65 kcal per 100 g and lower sugars than their industrial counterparts, they are hypoallergenic, gluten-free, and perfect for rediscovering as an occasional dessert, a refined snack, or the star ingredient in authentically delicious homemade desserts, from the orchard to the jar.
