In those years there was no Demeter certification in Italy, so they decided to go directly to the Demeter office in Germany where Organic and Biodynamic was already experiencing a moment of great interest.

When Felice and Iride Guerzoni, in an attempt to react to the problem of pollution of rivers and air, in 1984 they decided to embrace the Biodynamic philosophy by registering directly with Demeter in Germany to obtain certification.

THE DEMETER CERTIFICATION

After the first inspection by the inspector Dr. Obermaier sent by the German Demeter, he signs the contract with the acceptance of the company in the control circuit with the brand Biodin, thus starting the 3-year period of conversion of the vineyards. The contract is signed on 6 1984 June. Biodynamic certification is already proof that ours is the first certified organic vinegar factory, a biodynamic product is also organic.

Few companies like Guerzoni can boast documents of this kind, we were pioneers of organic and biodynamic agriculture in Italy. First producers of Organic Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI (but also Demeter) and only producers of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena Organic and Demeter PDO.

TODAY

Nothing has changed since then, the company is still managed by the Guerzoni family and cultivates the same land in the same way. Amazing to think like the books written by Rudolf Steiner in the early 1900s they convinced our family so much that they weave their history together.
Today the company is managed by his son, Lorenzo Guerzoni, who carries on the teachings and history of his father's company, who followed his studies in Chemistry and the Demeter directives for the production of best balsamic vinegar.
