Les Jardins de Gaïa Rooibos Tea

Les Jardins de Gaïa's Organic Rooibos Tea is an easy-to-prepare infusion that's delicious both hot and cold. Originating in the heart of the Cederberg Mountains, this sun-kissed South African rooibos offers all the generosity of a terroir exceptionally rich in biodiversity. Its smooth, caffeine-free infusion releases pleasant woody and vanilla aromas, which can be enjoyed both hot and as an iced tea. Technically, it's not a true tea, but rather an infusion made from a native South African plant, naturally caffeine-free and therefore suitable for any time of day, even evening. Grown biodynamically and Demeter-certified, it's a genuine and enveloping infusion, the result of fair trade and respectful agriculture.

The roots of this Rooibos lie in the heart of the Cederberg

Rooibos—which means "red bush" in Afrikaans—grows exclusively in one region of the world: the Cederberg Mountains in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The Khoisan people had been harvesting and making infusions from it for centuries, well before it was "rediscovered" and commercialized in the 20th century. The Wupperthal farm where this rooibos comes from is located at over 1000 meters above sea level, in the arid heights of the Cederberg, characterized by a Mediterranean climate and sandy, loamy, and acidic soils, ideal for this plant. It is a land of extraordinary biodiversity, populated by Cape mountain zebras, klipspringers, Cape leopards, and numerous bird species. This unique and wild environment gives rooibos its unmistakable character.

Choosing Rooibos means taking care of yourself

Rooibos is prized worldwide for its qualities. Being naturally caffeine- and theine-free, it can be consumed at any time, even in the evening, without interfering with sleep, and is also suitable for children. It is also low in tannins, making it mildly bitter and pleasantly sweet without the need for sugar. It is traditionally known for its antioxidant content, particularly aspalathin and other flavonoids, and for its mineral content. Calorie-free when consumed without additives, it is an excellent thirst-quenching and hydrating beverage, enjoyable both hot and cold. Produced from certified biodynamic agriculture, it is a pure product, free from synthetic chemical residues. A healthy, natural, and versatile choice for any time of day.

How to Best Use: Organic Rooibos Tea

  • HOT, SWEETENED WITH HONEY — Its vanilla notes are enhanced with a natural sweet touch. Prepare it as an infusion and sweeten it with a teaspoon of Organic Acacia Honey, for a warm, comforting and relaxing drink, also perfect in the evening.
  • COLD AS THIRST-QUENCHING ICED TEA — Ideal for the summer, it's a natural refreshment. Let it cool and serve with ice and a slice of orange or organic Amalfi Coast lemon, for a caffeine-free iced tea, thirst-quenching and suitable for the whole family.
  • SPICY OR IN COMBINATION WITH DESSERTS — It lends itself to aromatic infusions and to accompany pastries. Flavor it with a stick of Ceylon cinnamon chai style, or enjoy it with  organic hazelnut and almond tozzetti or Ancient Grain and Almond Biscuit, for a delicious break.
