Organic Abate Pears

The Abate pear belongs to the Pyrus communis species, while the pear variety was obtained in 1866 in France from the experiments of Abbot Fetel who, starting from different local cultivars, gave rise to the Abbot Fétel.

In Italy, the Abate pear is grown mainly in the Emilia-Romagna area, where it is protected by the IGP trademark, a protected geographical indication.
