Una Garlanda's Organic Whole Grain Rosa Marchetti Rice

Rosa Marchetti Organic Whole Grain Rice is a rarity among whole grain rice varieties: Rosa Marchetti, a prized traditional Italian variety with medium grains, is naturally and non-hybridly grown. It is smooth even when whole, a quality very few rices can match. The medium-long grain, with a full and balanced flavor, maintains its beautiful shape once cooked while remaining soft and easily digestible: 35-40 minutes of cooking time, or 20 minutes in a pressure cooker. Grown by Una Garlanda in Rovasenda, in the Baraggia Vercellese area, without fertilizers or pesticides, on 38,20 hectares of biodiverse rice fields, and packaged exclusively in paper.

The roots of this brown rice are deep in tradition

Brown rice is rice as nature intended it: stripped of only the husk, it retains its bud and pericarp, so that a whole grain is still a seed capable of germinating. For millennia, throughout Asia, "brown rice" was the staple food of monks and the countryside, before refining relegated it to the food of the poor. It was 20th-century macrobiotics that restored its dignity in the West, bringing the whole grain back to the center of the table as a symbol of balance—a vision that, through the encounter with Mario Pianesi and the UPM association, also profoundly influenced the Stocchi family's journey. In this whole grain, philosophy and agronomy meet in the most literal way: the preserved seed becomes the dish.

Choosing Rosa Marchetti Whole Grain Rice means taking care of yourself.

Brown rice preserves the best of the grain: precious fiber for intestinal regularity and satiety, B vitamins, minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, and manganese, and the antioxidant compounds found in the pericarp. Its lower glycemic index compared to white rice makes it a source of slow-release complex carbohydrates, ideal for sustained energy and blood sugar management. Naturally gluten-free, Rosa Marchetti whole grain rice adds a rare advantage: its vitreous texture makes it soft and easily digestible, overcoming the barrier that keeps many away from common brown rice. All from a chemical-free supply chain, certified from seed to plate.
