100% fresh Tuscan tomatoes from organic farming, no added salt, vegan
Small, whole, and incredibly sweet: cherry tomatoes that burst in the pan and give the sauce a summery flavour.

I Peeled Cherry Tomatoes from Cerqueto are whole cherry tomatoes, picked ripe in the fields of Toscana and processed a few kilometers from Acquapendente, blanched and peeled using the traditional method and packaged in their own juice. A single ingredient, organically grown tomatoes, without added salt and naturally vegan: no acidifiers, no concentrates added to “correct” the flavour.
The cherry tomato is the sweetest and most intense form of tomato: the thin skin is removed, the pulp remains compact and full of juice, with a balance between sweetness (4,7 g of natural sugars per 100 g) and of lactic acidity that a large tomato can't reach. In a pan, they mash with a fork in just a few minutes and release a thick, bright red, and fragrant sauce, perfect for pasta, fish, and quick cooking. With just 38 kcal and 0,1 g of salt per 100 g, this product Italian who brings the field to the table and nothing else.
The cherry tomato is the tomato as nature intended it. The wild progenitor of all varieties, the Solanum lycopersicum there. cerasiform, grew wild along the coasts of Peru and Ecuador, producing small, cherry-like fruits, both sweet and tart. It was from there that Mesoamerican growers selected the larger fruits over the millennia. When tomatoes arrived in the Mediterranean, it was precisely the small varieties that first conquered southern Italy: they were drought-resistant, ripened in clusters, and, crucially, could be stored.
Thus the tradition of the Vesuvius was born on the slopes of Vesuvius. piennolo: bunches of cherry tomatoes woven together and hung from the beams of peasant houses, where they remained fresh until winter, consumed one tomato at a time. And in Campania, at the beginning of the twentieth century, in the countryside between Nocera and San Marzano, the peeled: the blanched, peeled, and canned tomato, the first Italian product to follow emigrants overseas and bring Sunday sauce to the kitchens of New York and Buenos Aires. The peeled cherry tomatoes of Cerqueto combine these two stories—the small fruit and the whole preserve—with the Tuscan tomato.
The cherry tomato is, weight for weight, more concentrated in nutrients than the large tomato: 38 Kcal per 100g, 0,5g fat, 5,8g carbohydrates, 2 g of fiber and 1,6 g of protein, with a content of lycopene, Vitamin C, potassium, and beta-carotene, which the thin skin and full ripeness make particularly high. Lycopene, in particular, becomes more bioavailable with cooking and extra virgin olive oil: a cherry tomato sauce is one of the most antioxidant-rich dishes in Italian cuisine.
The absence of added salt, with only 0,1 g per 100 g, and the absence of acidifiers make these peeled tomatoes a suitable choice for those who need to control their sodium and those who prefer a clean label. They are vegan, naturally gluten-free and suitable for all diets. And the cultivation Biological It has an added value for a fruit that is eaten whole, peel included: no residue of synthetic pesticides, just the Tuscan sun.
Cerqueto, in Acquapendente, has grown by responding to the demands of everyday cooks, from families to restaurants, without ever changing its founding principles: organic Italian ingredients, traditional processing, and single-ingredient labels. Products like these peeled tomatoes, vegan and without added salt, are the way this Alta Tuscia company extends its vision of quality beyond the world of legumes.
