Montelibretti Cherries: The Sweetness and Juiciness of Roman Sabina
_The intense red of ripe spring, hand-picked in the orchards of the Sabine Mountains_

Le Cherries di Montelibretti, affectionately known as cherry in the Sabine dialect, they are an authentic treasure of the Lazio fruit-growing tradition. Grown on the rolling hills of Sabine Mountains North of Rome, they benefit from an ideal microclimate of cool breezes and mineral-rich volcanic soil, producing fruit with firm, juicy flesh and a deep ruby red color. Certified organic cultivation, respectful of natural cycles and free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, allows the fruit to ripen slowly on the tree, developing a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. Strictly hand-picked at the perfect stage of ripeness, they are the quintessential symbol of the brief, glorious spring season.
The history of cherries in Sabina dates back thousands of years: as early as the 1st century BC, the Greek geographer Strabo described the area's orchards as among the most luxuriant in Lazio.
