Organic hulled millet is a highly nutritious and easily digestible cereal, capable of providing carbohydrates, proteins and fibers essential for a healthy and balanced diet.
Organic cultivation guarantees the quality of the product, respecting the environment and preventing the use of harmful chemicals.
“Hulled millet” is the Italian expression used to indicate “hulled millet”.
Millet is a small gluten-free grain that has been cultivated for thousands of years and widely consumed in many countries around the world. The “decortication” process involves removing the outer shell of the millet grain, making it easier to digest and cook.
Hulled millet is rich in nutrients such as proteins, fibre, B vitamins, magnesium and iron.
It has a pleasantly delicate and slightly nutty flavor and is a versatile ingredient that lends itself to the preparation of a wide range of dishes, such as porridge, pilaf, soups and salads.
Hulled millet represents a valid alternative to rice, couscous and other cereals for those who suffer from gluten intolerance or for anyone looking to diversify their diet.
1. Health and Wellbeing: hulled millet is a healthy and nutritious food that provides our body with important beneficial substances such as vitamins and minerals. In particular, it is rich in manganese, iron, phosphorus and magnesium, essential for reducing fatigue, strengthening bones, preventing anemia and improving blood circulation.
2. Versatility: hulled millet can be used in many different ways: as a base for soups or stews, as a side dish, as a filling for vegetables or as an ingredient to prepare delicious and healthy dishes such as vegan meatballs or omelettes.
3. Accessibility: cheap and easy to cook. Furthermore, it is suitable for all diets, even for those who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet, and can be integrated with other ingredients to create tasty and varied dishes.
Simple and healthy.
1 – Start by rinsing the millet under running water and then cook it in boiling water for 15-20 minutes, depending on the instructions on the package.
2 – Once cooked, drain the millet and season with extra virgin olive oil and some spices to taste, such as black pepper, oregano or fresh basil.
3 – You can also add diced vegetables, such as carrots, courgettes or peppers, previously sautéed in a pan with a drizzle of oil.
4- Millet can also be used as a base for salads, or as a side dish to proteins, such as chicken, fish or tofu.
In any case, millet is a very nutritious cereal, rich in proteins, minerals and fibre, and also suitable for those who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet.
