The roots of this water sink into the oldest granites in Europe

The granites of Gallura are among the oldest rocks on the continent: they were formed over three hundred million years ago, when Sardinia was still part of an immense primordial mountain range. Monti di Deu—"Mount of God" in Gallura dialect—bears in its name the sacred respect that the shepherds and farmers of these lands have always reserved for water, a rare and precious resource on an island without major rivers. It is through these ancient, compact, and insoluble rocks that every drop of Smeraldina makes its slow journey toward its source, enriching itself with the silica that is the unmistakable signature of its granite origin.
