Verde Ambiente: the organic farm with the soul of a nurseryman

A Rome, in the vast countryside surrounding the Capital, stands Verde Ambiente Società Bio: a farm of 13 hectares conducted with passion by LucaA reality born from a particular path, which makes it unique in the panorama of organic farming in Lazio: even before being a farm, Verde Ambiente was a specialized nursery and a company of irrigation systemsIt was only later that Luca's passion for the land led him towards true organic farming, transforming his nursery business into a high-quality horticultural production. Today 7 of the 13 hectares are dedicated to the cultivation of organic vegetables, remaining hectares dedicated to the orchard: a choice that broadens the production range and further enhances the corporate biodiversityThe presence of the orchard, in particular, is also a valuable element from an ecological perspective: the trees attract pollinating insects and beneficial fauna, contributing to the balance of the entire farm's agroecosystem.

The purchase of the land and the birth of the agricultural project

The history of Verde Ambiente begins between the 2007 and 2008, when Luca buys the land in the Roman countryside: a long-term investment, made at a time when few considered organic farming as a viable future. Where many would have seen only land to be exploited for real estate speculation or intensive agriculture, Luca saw a agronomic laboratory: a space to experiment, cultivate, and grow plants and ideas. The experience gained over the years as nurseryman — with all the technical knowledge required for the production of seedlings, the care of the climate in greenhouses, the management of drip irrigation — has become the intellectual capitalon which the new organic farming business was built.

The nursery's legacy: a step ahead of traditional agriculture

The background from nurseryman gives Verde Ambiente a more gear compared to agricultural companies created from scratch. Those who come from the nursery industry know the physiological needs of plants from the very moment of sprouting: temperature, humidity, photoperiod, substrate quality, transplant timing, water stress management. The nurseryman is accustomed to looking at the plant in its entirety. most delicate phase— the initial one — and to create the perfect conditions for its development. This knowledge is then translated into the open field in healthier, more productive, more resilient crops: every Verde Ambiente plant is born with a competitive advantage, the result of the almost obsessive care that only an expert nurseryman can guarantee. The expertise on irrigation systems, further professional legacy, also allows a efficient management of water resources —a critical factor in the Roman countryside increasingly affected by climate change and summer drought.

7 hectares of organic vegetables in the Roman countryside

Su 7 hectares of certified organic land, Verde Ambiente produces a wide variety of seasonal vegetables, cultivated with rotations designed to preserve soil fertility and reduce the pressure of pathogens and parasites. The Roman countryside, with its mixed soils of volcanic and alluvial origin, offers a rich and fertile habitat for horticultural crops: the Mediterranean climate, the waters of the Tiber basin, and the proximity to city markets are all factors that have made this area one of the historic horticultural districts of central Italy since Roman antiquity. Verde Ambiente recovers this ancient tradition with the modern sensitivity of certified organic, applying the principles of short supply chain: from the seedling to the consumer's basket, in a few hours and a few kilometers.

A zero kilometre choice for the Capital and a short kilometre choice for the rest of Italy, with all the guarantees of organic certification and the passion of an entrepreneur who has an ancient and profound relationship with plants.
