The Certosa di Firenze, also known as Certosa del Galluzzo, is an ancient monastery located in the hills just outside Florence, in an area called Galluzzo.
Ancient recipes from the 1300s, more modern ones from the 1500s, these recipes are expertly carried forward from generation to generation until today.
Founded in 1341 by Niccolò Acciaioli, a wealthy Florentine, the Certosa was for centuries an important center of religious and cultural life. The Carthusian monks, known for their rigorous rule of silence and solitude, lived there until 1958, dedicating themselves to prayer, study and the production of works of art.

Liquors: The Liquors of the Certosa are still produced today inside the Distillery of the Certosa of Florence according to the ancient tradition of the monks. The distillates are made using an ancient wood-fired still; the oak barrels for storage then give the characteristic aroma.
Jams: The Certosa jams and marmalades are handcrafted with zero-mile fruit, mainly coming from the monastery itself and the Abetone area.
