The Banec project by ProEcuador, coordinated by Nestor Morán, has the main objective of improving international sales for small and medium-sized banana producers, providing them with thedirect access to the market, fair prices e good working conditions.
"For the banana sector - explains Morán - the initiative was conceived by small export associations who pointed out the opportunity to enhance the Fair Trade banana market at an international level".
Thanks to ProEcuador's commercial network, the three organizations will now have the opportunity to enter new markets together distant sharing promotional spaces which otherwise would not be available for cost reasons.
AlPassoFood has decided to embrace the project and sell bananas as only imported fruit of our site.
The banana is a fruit that we cannot find in Italy, if found it is not the Cavendish variety but a small one with a different flavor and texture that can be found available in the months of May and June.
We decided to continue our research outside the European Union, knowing that since April 2018 organic products outside the EU are subject to a "principle of conformity" to European standards and no longer simply to the "principle of equivalence" ” which prevailed so far. One more guarantee!
Remaining in a philosophy of sustainability and small producers, we have joined the Banec project, to improve the lives of workers and encourage small companies in Ecuador to cultivate responsibly.
