Una Garlanda's Organic Rice Beer

Una Garlanda Organic Rice Beer is a special beer made with safe, premium ingredients: water from the Nocera Umbra thermal springs is combined with strictly naturally produced organic ingredients—barley malt, Una Garlanda Chinese Originario semi-milled rice, and harmonious Hallertau hops. Its signature ingredient is the final addition of sweet rice malt for bottle fermentation: an uncommon artisanal process that eliminates the usual additions of cane sugar or refined white sugar, giving the beer its distinctive "fizz." Brewed exclusively for Una Garlanda by the historic San Biagio AD 1333 brewery. Packaged in a clear glass bottle.

The roots of this Rice Beer are deep in tradition

When the San Biagio brewery took its first steps in 1333, the art of European brewing lived in monasteries: monks guarded the secrets of mashing and fermentation, brewing for pilgrims and the community with water from their own springs. Nearly seven centuries later, that Umbrian tradition meets another Italian story: that of the Baraggia rice fields and its canning varieties. Brewing rice has an often-overlooked nobility—it lightens the body and brightens the color—but here it goes a step further: rice malt replaces sugar in the refermentation, as in the great bottle-conditioned craft beers of the Belgian tradition. Two heritages, one glass.

Olfactory examination: delicate aromas of cereal and bread crust, with the harmonious herbaceous and floral notes of Hallertau hops and a sweet hint of rice.
Taste test: agile and thirst-quenching sip, slender body lightened by the rice, gentle bitterness and a dry and clean finish, with a fine effervescence that invites the next sip.
