HONEY | DRIED FRUITS | CREAMY
A sip of biodiversity that protects the heart of the Sumatran rainforest.

Orango Utan Coffee is much more than just a beverage; it's a symbol of excellence and sustainability, originating in the lush Gayo Highlands of Sumatra, Indonesia. This Red Bourbon coffee is grown at 1.300 meters above sea level by small local producers who follow strict organic protocols. Its key characteristic lies in its extraordinary sensory profile, where sweet honey notes blend harmoniously with the complexity of dried fruit and a smooth, creamy texture.
The coffee is processed using the traditional Indonesian "wet-hulled" method (Giling Basah), which gives it a full, smooth body and low acidity. This unique process allows the beans to retain an aromatic freshness that translates into a perfectly balanced cup, dominated by notes of chocolate and nuts. Every sip tells the story of a wild land and the dedication of those who work the land while respecting natural cycles.
By purchasing this coffee, you actively participate in protecting natural resources and the climate. The Orang Utan Coffee project integrates social and ecological sustainability into every stage of the supply chain, guaranteeing fair premiums to farmers and funding conservation programs for orangutans and their habitat. This coffee nourishes the soul and the environment, bringing the authentic essence of the Indonesian forest into your home.
The wet-hulled processing method is an ancient Indonesian technique, developed to cope with the high humidity of the tropical climate. After harvesting and hand-sorting, the beans undergo an initial, rapid sun-drying process until they reach approximately 30-40% moisture content, before being hulled while still wet. This ancient artisanal practice is what gives Orango Utan Coffee its inimitable smoothness and the earthy, elegant profile that distinguishes it from African or American coffees.
The history of this coffee is inextricably linked to the Orang Utan Coffee Project, an initiative created to combat deforestation. In the lands of Umang Isaq, the coexistence of agriculture and wildlife is a value passed down from generation to generation. Supporting this project means preserving an agricultural tradition that sees humans as custodians of biodiversity, ensuring a future for Sumatran orangutans through conscious land management.
Orango Utan Coffee, thanks to its medium roast and organic nature, preserves its valuable antioxidant properties. The low acidity typical of the wet-hulled Red Bourbon variety makes it particularly gentle on the digestive system, offering clean, long-lasting energy without the acidity spikes typical of commercial coffees. Its natural sweetness also allows for the reduction or elimination of added sugars, enhancing the benefits of pure coffee.
Consuming specialty coffee also means reducing exposure to chemical residues, as organic cultivation in the Gayo Highlands excludes the use of synthetic pesticides. This approach not only protects the health of consumers and workers, but also ensures a product rich in minerals and bioactive compounds that promote cognitive and metabolic well-being. A conscious choice that combines the pleasure of the palate with respect for one's body.
Start your day by preparing this coffee using a filter or moka pot to enhance the honey notes. Pair it with Organic Mugello Biscuit 260g or to Traditional Almond Cantuccino 200g. For an extra touch of creaminess, add a teaspoon of Organic Wildflower Honey 500g, which perfectly recalls the “honey” profile of the coffee.
Create a contrast of textures by pairing the smooth body of Orango Utan Coffee with a selection of Roasted HazelnutsIf you are looking for a more intense experience, enjoy it with a piece of Dark Chocolate with Whole Hazelnuts 100g: the roasting of the coffee and that of the nuts will blend in an unforgettable balance.
Transform the end of the meal into a special moment by serving coffee together with a slice of homemade cake garnished with Organic Hazelnut Cream with Milk 200g and Nocciomiele Organic Honey and Hazelnut Cream 240gThe creamy component of the drink will envelop the sweetness of the cream, creating a harmonious and persistent combination.
