Blend of premium organic mountain coffees, in 100% compostable food grade filter paper
Spicy tones and a pleasant dark chocolate aftertaste: the espresso that leaves no traces

This blend is made from premium organic mountain coffee beans: beans grown at high altitude, where slow maturation concentrates sugars and aromatic precursors, resulting in an espresso with spicy notes and a pleasant dark chocolate aftertaste. The coffee is hand-roasted, freshly ground, and individually packaged in 100% compostable food-grade filter paper—the same approach as the capsules, meaning each portion is protected until extraction, but with a completely different end-of-life approach: the used pod, including the paper and grounds, simply goes in the organic waste bin. No waste, no separation of materials, no worries.
The paper filter pod — what baristas call ESE, Easy Serving Espresso —was born in Italy in the 1980s from a simple yet effective idea: standardize the dose and tamping of coffee in a ready-to-use disc, so that a perfect espresso could be made even outside of a café. The principle is that of a small single-serve filter: 7 grams of ground coffee compressed between two layers of baking paper, the same amount a barista puts in the filter holder. Compared to the capsule, the pod has an advantage that matters more today than ever: made only of paper and coffee, it is completely compostable. It is a format that combines the convenience of the single-serve with the time-honored logic of Italian espresso—and closes the loop where plastic and aluminum, instead, leave it open.
Morettino has been roasting coffee in Palermo since 1920, using artisanal slow-roasting techniques and a commitment to environmental sustainability throughout the entire supply chain: from direct selection from small producers in the countries of origin to the choice of packaging materials. For four generations, "respect" isn't just a slogan, but a working method.
Store the pods in their packaging, in a cool, dry place, away from light, humidity, and strong odors. Each pod is individually wrapped to preserve its aroma until use. After extraction, the used pod—filter paper and coffee grounds together—can be disposed of in the organic waste bin. Check your local authority's regulations.
