Fresh Organic Eggs from Solariums

Solaria's Fresh Organic Eggs represent excellence in ethical and sustainable poultry farming, laid by happy hens raised according to the highest animal welfare standards required by organic farming. These laying hens are not confined in cramped cages or crowded into overcrowded industrial warehouses, but are raised freely with guaranteed access to outdoor spaces where they can scratch, peck, dust bathe, perch, and demonstrate all the natural behaviors of their species. Each hen has at least 10 square meters of outdoor space—a generous amount of space that far exceeds the legal organic minimum (4 square meters), demonstrating Solaria's genuine commitment to true animal welfare.

Organic farming also includes feeding certified organic feed free of GMOs, preventative antibiotics, growth promoters, or other synthetic additives; veterinary care primarily based on prevention, homeopathy, and phytotherapy, limiting the use of allopathic medications to strictly necessary cases; and low densities in night shelters, ensuring clean air, adequate space to roam, and minimized stress. Chickens can express their natural ethology: foraging for insects and seeds in the grass, enjoying the sun, interacting socially with their flock, and laying eggs in quiet, protected nests.

The result of this respectful farming is reflected in the superior quality of the eggs: a deep yellow-orange yolk (indicating a diet rich in natural carotenoids from grass, corn, and vegetables), a dense and consistent egg white that doesn't fall apart when the egg is broken (a sign of the hen's freshness and health), a sturdy shell, and the full, authentic flavor of a "real egg" that intensively caged eggs simply can't provide. The eggs vary naturally—as happens in real life when hens lay according to their individual biological rhythms rather than being forced into a standardized production—from medium to large to extra-large, all equally fresh and nutritious.

The roots of organic farming are rooted in animal respect

Intensive industrial egg-laying hen farming, developed in the postwar period to maximize production and profits, has created systems where millions of hens live their entire lives in tiny cages (battery cages), unable to move, spread their wings, perch, scratch around, or exhibit any natural behavior. This system causes immense suffering to sentient animals, produces inferior eggs, requires massive use of preventative antibiotics to control diseases fostered by overcrowding, and has devastating environmental impacts.

The organic and animal welfare movement, which grew in the 70s and 80s, established alternative standards that center on respect for animals, recognizing them as sentient beings with ethical needs that must be met. Free-range farming with ample space, access to pasture, organic feed, and low stocking densities represents a return to more humane, sustainable, and healthy farming methods that produce eggs of significantly superior quality, both in terms of organoleptic and ethical standards.

Choosing organic eggs means noble proteins and omega-3s

Eggs are considered the reference protein food for biological quality: they contain all the essential amino acids in optimal proportions (high biological value proteins), are very rich in vitamins (A, D, E, K, all the B vitamins including B12, essential for vegetarians who consume eggs), minerals (iron, zinc, selenium, phosphorus), choline essential for brain health and memory, lutein and zeaxanthin (carotenoids that protect eyesight), and various antioxidants.

Eggs from free-range hens with access to grass and insects have a superior nutritional profile compared to caged eggs: higher content of beneficial omega-3 fatty acids (from the grasses and seeds the hens freely peck at), more vitamin E and carotenoids (visible in the brightly colored yolk), and a better omega-6/omega-3 ratio. Despite their past bad reputation, eggs do not significantly raise blood cholesterol in most healthy people (the liver compensates by reducing endogenous production), and they are a very nutritionally dense food, with only 70–80 kcal per average egg.
