Chinese Grand Cru Qi Men Hong Cha – a red and velvety infusion with notes of chocolate and malt, woody and fruity accents
The Burgundy of teas: a velvety sip that smells of cocoa and ripe fruit, in perfect balance.

Les Jardins de Gaïa's Grand Keemun FOP Organic Black Tea is a classic Chinese grand cru: the celebrated Qi Men Hong Cha (祁门红茶), produced southwest of the famed Yellow Mountain. Its smooth, red infusion intertwines typical chocolate and malt notes with light woody and fruity accents: a heavenly tea, perfectly balanced. The FOP (Flowery Orange Pekoe) grade indicates a fine harvest of young leaves and buds, while certified organic cultivation and a fair trade supply chain make it a grand cru as precious in the cup as it is virtuous in its production history.
Keemun is a relatively young legend in the millennia-old history of Chinese tea: born in the late 19th century, it quickly conquered European tables, where it became the prized centerpiece of the most celebrated breakfast blends and earned the nickname "the Burgundy of teas" for its vinous elegance. The leaves of this selection come from the Xuan'en Yisheng small-scale producers' cooperative, in the hinterland of Mount Wuling, in the Enshi region: a spectacular landscape of deep valleys and karst formations crossed by the Qing River, rich in springs and endemic species such as the golden monkey. Here, the humidity of the rainforests envelops the tea bushes, often planted among rocks to better draw on the minerals and salts of a naturally selenium-rich soil. White, green, black, and dark teas all originate from the same plant: it's the terroir, the finesse of the leaves, and the processing that create a limitless palette of flavors.
A cup of Keemun is a virtually calorie-free pleasure: like any loose-leaf tea, the infusion contains negligible amounts of sugar, fat, and salt, offering in exchange the natural benefits of black tea, with its polyphenols and a slow-release caffeine that wakes you up and helps you concentrate with a sweeter sensation than coffee. Choosing it also means supporting a tangible community: in an environmental context made uncertain by frequent landslides and floods, the Fairtrade Premium has allowed the cooperative to implement a road improvement and maintenance project, purchase tea production equipment, and transport vehicles for its two factories. Certified organic and fair trade: quality that does you good twice over.
Les Jardins de Gaïa has always offered teas and herbal teas from certified organic cultivation since 1994, with natural and organic flavors: a commitment that extends to requiring suppliers to use certified organic aromatic agents and solvents. Teas of origin are selected with respect for the terroir, the leaves, and the communities that grow them.
