The Mons Roni Cannitum Puglia Bianco PGI by Cantina Giara

Mons Roni Cannitum Puglia Bianco PGI is an organic orange wine made from a blend of three native grape varieties—Verdeca, Malvasia, and Moscatello selvaggio—grown in the Jazzo di Stefano district of Adelfia, Puglia. This natural, unfiltered wine macerates on its skins for eight to nine days and features a striking amber-copper color. The grapes come from a thirty-five-year-old vineyard, trained using old-style canopies and espalier systems, on calcareous-clay soil at an altitude of 231 meters, where significant temperature variations contribute to a rich aromatic profile. Fermentation is spontaneous, using only indigenous yeasts and manual pumping over. VinNatur-certified and organic, it is the most aromatic and Mediterranean expression of Cantina Giara's artisanal philosophy: a lively, savory, and multifaceted wine.

The roots of this wine lie in the forgotten vines of Puglia

Verdeca, Malvasia, and Moscatello Selvaggio are native white grape varieties of Puglia, guardians of an ancient tradition that was once widespread and is now being preciously rediscovered. Verdeca, in particular, was historically one of the region's most widely cultivated varieties, while Moscatello Selvaggio is an aromatic rarity that was at risk of extinction. Vinifying them together with maceration on the skins, following the ancestral technique of orange wine, means giving these forgotten grapes a new and surprising voice. The long maceration enhances the blend's natural aromatics, imparting aromas of Mediterranean scrub, spices, and exotic fruit. Grown on thirty-five-year-old trellises, these vines express the most authentic Puglia. Cantina Giara creates an artisanal interpretation of them with a rare identity.

Choosing the Mons Roni Cannitum Puglia Bianco PGI it means taking care of yourself

A wine produced through spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts, macerated for a long time, unfiltered, and organic and biodynamically grown, represents a conscious choice for a more natural and authentic drinking experience. The long maceration on the skins—a full eight to nine days—preserves and enriches the grape's richness, giving this white wine a particularly high concentration of polyphenols and antioxidants. Biodynamic cultivation on calcareous-clayey soil, without synthetic products and with low yields, guarantees a vibrant and authentic product. Any residues and slight cloudiness are natural and testify to the wine's authenticity. Consumed in moderation, it is part of the convivial Mediterranean tradition, showcasing precious native grape varieties at risk of extinction.

How to Best Use: Mons Roni Cannitum Puglia Bianco PGI
