Organic Pink Monarda Spreadable Nurse's yard

Pflegerhof's Organic Pink Monarda Spread is a unique and refined product, made with the petals and leaves of Monarda didyma (American bergamot or Oswego tea), one of the most prized medicinal herbs grown on the famous Siusi allo Sciliar herb farm. Its dense, syrupy consistency, pink color with amber highlights, and unmistakable aroma—a floral bouquet with notes of bergamot, mint, and rose—make it a versatile and surprising product. Just a few ingredients, all organic: water, corn syrup, and organic pink monarda, for a natural, delicate, and authentically Alpine flavor, far removed from overly sugary industrial jams.

The roots of this Pink Monarda are deep in tradition

Monarda, also known as "Oswego tea," takes its name from the Spanish botanist Nicolás Monardes and was used by the Native Americans of the Oswego tribe as a medicinal plant, dye, and thirst-quenching infusion. Brought to Europe in the 17th century, it has become a symbol of natural remedies: during the Boston Tea Party of 1773, Americans drank it en masse as a patriotic alternative to English tea. In the medicinal landscape of Alto Adige, Monarda has become part of the herbal heritage of the Pflegerhof farm, the first and oldest organic herb farm in the region, where the Mulser family has been cultivating it since 1982 at 800 meters above sea level in the Dolomites of the Alpe di Siusi.

Choosing Pink Monarda Spread means taking care of yourself

Monarda is traditionally recognized for its medicinal properties: it is considered a digestive, carminative, and slightly relaxing plant, thanks to the natural presence of thymol and carvacrol, two aromatic active ingredients with balsamic properties. The essential oils contained in the flowers and leaves support respiratory health, while the citrus scent helps soothe tension and mental fatigue. This spreadable version retains much of these aromatic notes thanks to the gentle processing at Pflegerhof, which preserves the plant's active ingredients. The absence of preservatives, synthetic flavors, and artificial colorings makes it an authentic and healthy dessert.
