The green lemon of the Sicilian summer: thin peel, abundant juice and the fresh scent of the third flowering
When all the lemons have rested, the Verdello arrives: green, juicy and fragrant, the lemon that defies the calendar.
The Organic Verdello Lemon is the quintessential summer lemon: while other citrus fruits await winter, it ripens under the July and August sun, with its distinctive, thin, light green peel rich in essential oils and a succulent pulp with an elegant, yet never aggressive, acidity. Grown according to organic farming principles, without pesticides or synthetic waxes, it offers a zest that's completely safe for grating—a precious detail, because it's precisely in the Verdello's zest that its most subtle fragrance lies. It's the lemon that saves summer tables, when granitas, salads, and fish demand true freshness.
Verdello is the brainchild of 19th-century Sicilian gardeners. At a time when lemons were worth their weight in gold—sailing ships laden with crates sailed to America, where Sicilian juice was highly sought after—growers invented "forcing," a clever technique that, by suspending irrigation in midsummer, encouraged the trees to blossom extraordinarily. From those out-of-season flowers, the following summer grew green lemons: Verdelli, in fact, which allowed for fresh lemons during the thirstiest months. A small, Sicilian agronomic revolution, which still today provides the right lemon at the right time.
Summer lemons are a precious ally when it's needed most: their vitamin C supports the body strained by the heat, while their juice, diluted in cool water, is one of the oldest and smartest ways to stay hydrated. The flavonoids in the peel and its essential oils complete the antioxidant profile, and the citric acid aids digestion and the absorption of plant-based iron. Virtually calorie-free, Verdello adds flavor to dishes and drinks, reducing the need for salt and sugar. Organic, it's used from zest to the last drop.
Verdello, with its thin skin, can be stored at room temperature for 4-5 days and in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks. To have it always ready, squeeze the juice into ice cube trays and freeze it, then grate the zest before juicing: nothing of this lemon deserves to go to waste.

Very good!
Always exceptional quality and products, excellent service
The fruit and tomatoes were only packaged in paper bags, which is why they arrived completely rotten and squashed. The staff who were supposed to assist me after the incident never returned any of my numerous phone calls, and after receiving photos of the damaged goods on WhatsApp, they blocked my number... An embarrassing shop... I paid €170 for the fruit, including shipping.
