PET NAT made from pure Falanghina, the natural bubbles of the island of Ischia.
A lively and ancestral toast, where the volcano and the sea become natural sparkle

Insula Felix Epomeo Bianco IGT is a PET NAT (Pétillant Naturel)—natural sparkling wine—made from 100% Falanghina grapes, produced in the Cannavale area of Barano d'Ischia. Made using the ancestral method, it is a natural sparkling wine with lively, fine bubbles, the result of a second fermentation in the bottle with the same must preserved from the harvest, without additives. The grapes grow on volcanic soil, sandy on the surface and clayey below, at 300 meters above sea level, cultivated biodynamically and harvested by hand. The initial spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts. The result is a fresh, exuberant, and authentic wine, a vibrant expression of the island of Ischia and of natural, respectful viticulture.
PET NAT, short for the French Pétillant Naturel, is actually the oldest method for producing sparkling wines, well before the classic Champagne method. In the ancestral method, the wine is bottled before fermentation is complete, allowing the residual sugars, continuing to ferment in the bottle, to naturally produce carbon dioxide and thus bubbles. It's an ancient and fascinating technique, now being rediscovered and loved by natural winemakers for its authenticity and immediacy. Falanghina, a historic Campanian grape variety cultivated since Roman times, finds a surprising and contemporary interpretation in this sparkling wine. The name "Insula Felix," the happy island, celebrates the beauty and generosity of Ischia. Tenuta del Cannavale creates a volcanic and authentic version.
A wine produced using the ancestral method, with spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts and no additives, represents a conscious choice for a more natural and authentic drinking experience. The absence of invasive procedures and disgorgement preserves the integrity of the product and its original characteristics, including the yeasts. White wine, when consumed in moderation, provides polyphenols with antioxidant properties. Biodynamic cultivation on volcanic soil, with limited sulfur and copper protection and organic certification, guarantees a vibrant and authentic product. Choosing a wine made using natural methods also means supporting sustainable and respectful agricultural practices, as well as enhancing the biodiversity of a native Campanian grape variety.

It has a straw yellow color, sometimes slightly cloudy due to the naturalness of the method, animated by a fine and lively perlage. The slight presence of yeasts testifies to the absence of filtration and disgorgement.
On the nose it is fresh and fragrant, with notes of white-fleshed fruit, citrus and flowers, enriched by delicate hints of bread crust and yeast typical of the ancestral method, on a volcanic mineral background.
On the palate, it's lively, fresh, and savory, with a natural, creamy effervescence and a pleasant minerality from the volcanic soil. The sip is dry and thirst-quenching, with a clean, pleasantly drinkable finish.
A versatile and thirst-quenching sparkling wine, it pairs perfectly with aperitifs, fried fish and vegetables, shellfish and seafood, fresh cheeses, and mozzarella. Its natural effervescence makes it the perfect companion for social gatherings and Mediterranean cuisine. Serve chilled at 8-10°C.
