The G Guarnaccia of L'Acino

G Guarnaccia is a white wine made from 100% Guarnaccia Bianca grapes, an ancient native Calabrian grape, interpreted with an oxidative approach. Aged for one year in 13-hectoliter acacia barrels and intentionally lightly oxidized, it develops a profound and unconventional character, far removed from conventional white wines. Spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts and the absence of fining or filtration fully preserve its authenticity. It originates in the hills of San Marco Argentano, from natural farming methods that put the land at the center. A complex and gastronomic white wine, for curious palates and lovers of wines with character: the expression of a rural Calabria that knows how to explore ancient and fascinating paths.

The roots of this Guarnaccia lie in the oxidative wines of tradition

Controlled oxidation is one of the noblest and oldest winemaking techniques, the basis of legendary wines such as Spanish Jerez, French Jura Vin Jaune, and the great oxidative Mediterranean wines. Far from being a flaw, deliberate oxidation gives white wines depth, complexity, and unmistakable notes of dried fruit, spices, and bread crust. The choice of acacia barrels—a rare and delicate wood, different from oak—is a refined touch that enhances the wine's floral freshness. Guarnaccia Bianca, a native Calabrian grape of Greek heritage, finds a bold and original expression in this interpretation. L'Acino celebrates its history with a natural and courageous winemaking process.

Choosing G Guarnaccia means taking care of yourself

A wine produced through spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts, unfiltered and aged using natural methods, represents a conscious choice for a more authentic experience. The absence of invasive interventions preserves the integrity of the product and its original characteristics. Consumed in moderation, white wine provides polyphenols with antioxidant properties. Extended aging and the oxidative style enhance its complexity and structure. Artisanal production and the connection to a nature-centered agriculture guarantee a vibrant and authentic product. Choosing a wine made using natural methods also means supporting sustainable agricultural practices and enhancing the biodiversity of a precious native grape variety.

How to Best Use: G Guarnaccia Bianca

  • WITH MATURE CHEESES AND HONEY — The oxidative style pairs beautifully with long-aged cheeses. Serve it with Organic Parmigiano Reggiano di Montagna DOP 30 months accompanied by a veil of Viterbo Acacia Honey, in an ideal reference to the aging wood.
  • WITH RICH FIRST COURSES AND SAFFRON — Its complexity perfectly accompanies flavorful and fragrant dishes. Try it with a risotto prepared with Carnaroli DOP rice from Baraggia and Saffron Pistils for a combination of great elegance.
  • WITH DRIED FRUIT AND STRUCTURED SEAFOOD DISHES — Its oxidative notes interact with the toasted and intense flavors. Pair it with a handful of Organic Sorrento walnuts or a tasty Creamed Cod for a deep taste experience.
