The White Chora of L'Acino

Chora Bianco is L'Acino's base white wine, made from 100% Mantonico grapes, an ancient native Calabrian grape. It's an easy, fresh, and immediate wine, designed for the pure pleasure of aperitifs and conviviality. Spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts, the absence of fining or filtration, and nine months of maturation in stainless steel fully preserve its authenticity and territorial character. It originates from the windswept hills of San Marco Argentano, suspended between the sea and the mountains, cultivated using natural methods that put the land at the center. A straightforward and authentic white wine, a faithful expression of a rural and authentic Calabria, to be enjoyed without complications.

The roots of this Mantonico are deep in ancient Calabria

Mantonico is one of Calabria's oldest white grape varieties, cultivated in these lands since ancient times. Its name derives from the Greek "mantòs," meaning prophet or soothsayer, a testament to the region's profound Hellenic heritage, where colonists from Magna Graecia brought the culture of the vine. For centuries relegated to local, family consumption, Mantonico has been rediscovered and promoted thanks to the passion of winemakers attentive to biodiversity and its roots. The very name "Chora," which in ancient Greek refers to the cultivated land around the city, celebrates this profound connection to the land. Mantonico preserves this age-old heritage with natural and respectful winemaking.

Choosing Chora Bianco means taking care of yourself

A wine produced through spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts, without fining or filtration, represents a conscious choice for a more natural and authentic drinking experience. The absence of invasive interventions preserves the integrity of the product and its original characteristics. Consumed in moderation, white wine provides polyphenols with antioxidant properties. Artisanal production and a connection to a nature-centered agriculture guarantee a vibrant and authentic product. Choosing a wine made with natural methods also means supporting sustainable and respectful agricultural practices, as well as enhancing the biodiversity of a precious native grape variety.
