Chickpeas from Organic Straight Solco 400g

The Cece del Solco Dritto is a grain legume intended for fresh food consumption and is currently grown in a restricted area located within the municipalities of Valentano and Acquapendente.

While boasting an ancient tradition in these areas, chickpea was in fact one of the few sources of protein for farmers, its cultivation has only recently resumed thanks to the intervention of the Mountain Community.
The chickpea is obtained in these areas with traditional agricultural techniques, without the use of chemical products and several companies practice organic cultivation.

Straight furrow chickpeas

This legume owes its name to an event of the peasant tradition of the municipality of Valentano "La tiratura del solcoSTRA" which takes place on August 14 of each year in the plain below the village.

Festivals and events.
In the month of August, in the square of Via del Poggio, the traditional Valentanese gastronomic festival "LET'S DINNER TOGETHER" takes place every year as part of the Estate Valentanese organized by the local PRO LOCO. The straight furrow chickpea is on the menu of the event.

With its medieval villages, with numerous archaeological sites, with attention to food and wine organic and quality, with a naturalistic vocation and landscape conservation, with festivals and folkloristic events, it is certainly an area to discover.
