What is the Baba

Il Baba , Babba or Baba al rum is a leavened cake with a mushroom or scalloped donut shape, typical of Neapolitan pastry.

Made with strong flour, brewer's yeast, eggs, sugar and butter; which after rising is first baked in the oven and then soaked in this case in the Liqueur of Lemon of Amalfi

The small size of the individual babà makes them very versatile, use them as an accompaniment to ice creams or compotes and fruit jams, or as an ingredient for the creation of delicious dishes finger food dessert.

Babà with Limoncello

Instead of presenting it in its classic rum version, we have repurposed the variant of the Amalfi tradition: with a wet of ours Amalfi Limoncello, the organic liqueur from the Amalfi Coast PGI lemons (certification body Soil and Health) collected and selected from the lemon groves of our family.

The baba soaked in limoncello is not only a happy combination of completely natural flavors, but above all the meeting point of ancient traditions that have only the splendid scenery of our land in common.

Characteristics of the Amalfi Lemon
