Alchermes della Certosa has an intense ruby ​​red color and an aromatic scent, with notes of spices, rose and morello cherry. On the palate it is sweet and velvety, with a persistent and slightly spicy finish.

Directions for use:

• Alcoholic baths: Perfect for soaking sponge cake, ladyfingers and other desserts, giving a unique aroma and unmistakable taste.
• Spoon desserts: Add a few drops of Alchermes to custard, mascarpone or zabaglione for an extra touch of flavour.

Its name derives from the Arabic “al-qirmiz”, which means “cochineal”, the insect from which the red dye used for its production was extracted.
